[Privacy Policy]

The aim of Mander Organs is to provide a web site with a wealth of interesting information and also to allow users to exchange pipe organ related comments on our Discussion Board, to contact us directly through the web site and to leave messages in the Guest Book. To this end, you may be asked for a certain amount of personal information for some specific areas of the web site. The following statement explains our policy regarding any personal information Mander Organs might collect about you from your use of our web site.

1. Statement of intent

In some places on our web site - on the Contact Us, Guest Book and Discussion Board pages - you are asked to submit personal information about yourself (eg name and e-mail address, etc). By entering your details in the fields requested, you enable Mander Organs to reply to messages sent to Mander Organs either via the Contact page, the Guest Book or the Discussion Board. Whenever you provide such personal information, we will treat that information in accordance with this privacy policy. Our web site is designed to give you the information that you want to receive. Mander Organs will act in accordance with current data protection legislation and aim to meet current guidance on Internet best practice. Specifically, no such information will be passed to any third parties, nor will any such information other than your name be posted on the web site unless you choose to include it in the body of your posting.

2. Information held on visitors

No information provided by you through our web site will be passed to any third parties, and your e-mail address will not be visible to anybody visiting our web site, unless you choose to include it in the body of your message in the Guest Book or Discussion Board forms. Specifically, any e-mail addresses entered in the appropriate box on the Contact, Discussion Board or Guest Book entry points will not be published on our web site.

3. Access logs

Our host web server collects and saves only the conventional information customarily logged by web server software. Specifically, for each access: the date and time, the originating IP address, the object (ie page, image, script, document, etc) requested, and whether or not that request was fulfilled by the server. We analyse these logs from time to time to monitor and assess the "traffic" to our web site: the hits, the number of pages served, key words and the level of demand for pages of interest each month. This activity does not specifically identify any individual user; our web site logs do not identify you personally, and we make no attempt to identify the individuals who browse the site. We intend to continue improving the design, content layout and usefulness of this web site. To this end, we may monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage, to help us do provide content of interest to you.

4. Cookies

The Mander Organs web site does not use cookies, and there are no plans to do so in the foreseeable future. If for some reason cookies were to be used in the future, a clear statement to that effect will be made on this page. However, the new Discussion Board (with effect from 10 August 2004) may attempt to set session cookies but these can be deleted by clicking on "[Delete cookies set by this board]", on that page.

5. Submitting personal information

When you supply any personal information to Mander Organs (eg for entries in the Guest Book and Discussion Board or the Feedback form), we do have legal obligations towards you in the way we deal with that data. We must collect the information fairly and we must explain clearly how we will use it (see the notices on particular web pages that let you know why we are requesting the information, specifically Feedback, Guest Book and Discussion Board pages). This information will not be made available to anyone else under any circumstances, unless we are obliged by law to disclose it. In general, any information you provide to Mander Organs will be used only to reply to you. However, if you post or send offensive or inappropriate content on our website or to Mander Organs, and we consider such behaviour to be serious and/or repeated, we can use whatever information that is available about you to stop such behaviour. This may include informing relevant third parties such as an employer, school or Internet Service Provider about the content and your behaviour.

We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as is necessary to reply to your posting and remove it as soon as that the purpose has been met. No such information will be used by Mander Organs for cold-calling or spam mails or any other unsolicited communication. We will ensure that all personal information supplied is held securely, in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998 and Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003.

6. Access to your personal information

You have the right to request a copy of any personal information Mander Organs holds about you, although in practice it is most unlikely that there will be any. Please address such requests to ManderUK@mander-organs.com, with "Request for personal information" in the subject line, where they will be dealt with promptly.
