Does anyone know of recent examples produced in this country by Walker / Pennells & Sharp and how good they are? Am thinking of 16' Trombones or I suppose Fagots, and the like.
Any opinions and thoughts/information would be welcome

Well, we do not have a recent example by Walker - ours dates from 1867. However, I will gladly swap it for a decent metal rank, with a touch of Bombarde. The scale is too small, the pressure quite low and the effect is distinctly underwhelming by any standards.
